    So I have a simple blog that I want my side to list as a wordpress listing instead of a wayfinder like normal.

    What shows up in the side in controlled by a textarea TV called [*side*] i could set [*side*] to inherit and put {{wayfinder}} in the root document and {{wordpress_listing}} in the blog contatiner... but i manage too many clients for one screw up their entire site by chaging what is in [*side*] on the root directory

    if ([*side*] != "{{wayfinder}}") {print("@inherit");}
    else {print("{{wayfinder}}"}

    Im not using php, but thats the easiest way to describe what I want. The thought is that on all pages put {{wayfinder}} in [*side*] unless otherwise told not to. If i set [*side*] to {{wordpress_listing}} all sub pages would do that.

    How do I make a TV act this way? Thanks!!!

      Could you use two templates and choose the one you want?

      I think PHx will allow you to do what you want, but it seems like a lot of overhead for something that is manual chosen.

        Lot of work yea, but my friend and are developing a really good modx system when we can just copy the db and everything you could possibly want is there... takes the time doing random stuff for a new client easily in half.

        Using two templates seems more trouble then its worth most of the time. I could also make a tv that switched between the two... but then i have another tv and i dont want more to keep it as clean as possible.

        Ill look into PHx, thanks for the reply!

          This might help too. It is great for customizing the admin for the client. You could use it to make a radio button to choose "Navigation" or "Wordpress Listing"

            Im sot of confused about its function.. I have something similar but it uses a dropdown but could be used with check boxes.

            What are the advantages of that one? Im sure its there but Im not seeing it.
