    Aha, ok. In that case, I can’t tell you what to do, I haven’t had the need for that functionality myself yet. Good luck with it. smiley

      Thank you. I think I now have it. The problem was in the TV call in my template. I had omitted the ’#’ in front of the TV name. Now, as you stated, a button appears next to the text defined by the TV.

      Thanks to you and Steffen both for your great support.

        One thing to keep in mind is that if you are looking at the front-end page while logged in, and the page is cached at that point, everybody will get that cached version, including the editing buttons! So make sure to clear the cache when you are finished with such a document.

          thanks for the tip. does that mean that EVERYONE viewing the site (even anonymous users out in the world) will have access to the buttons? or do you just mean that other administrators who happen to be logged in at that time will see the buttons? if it is ’everyone’ out there in the world, than that would seem to be a major security issue when handing the site over to clients who do not know the difference between ’cache’ and ’cash’, no?

            Actually, I’m not so sure about this. I can’t reproduce it now. Looking at the cache file itself, the QuickEdit code is definitely not there, even when I’ve caused the cache file to be generated when viewing the page logged in as a manager user.

            Sorry about the false alarm... embarrassed

            Maybe it was an error on my part at the time, and I jumped to an unwarranted conclusion. Now I’m going to be going around for days wondering where it came from rolleyes

              i am relieved. certainly, the issue you initially alleged would be a serious security loophole that would have definitely kept me from using TVs in cases like this. anyway, i thank you again for your efforts to keep me on top of things and i am glad that TVs are still my friend.

                I have a question related to this;

                If relying on TV’s for the actual content of the page ( [*leftColumn*] [*rightColumn*] etc.)

                Is there any way to get rid of the normal [*content*] editor box in the manager since its not needed on that particular page?

                Right now I just have typed the words "---- Do Not Use This Box ----" in the box, so my client when editing his content does not accidentally type something there!

                Doesn’t look very professional. Is there a better solution?
