    Hello,

I’ve recently come across Modx and I think it’s by far one of the best CMSs out there ... but there’s one issue. My site is opening up all jumbled up on IE 6 and 7. It works fine on Firefox 2 and 3 without any issues. I have a feeling there is probably a fix for this out there. Can someone please point me to it? I need it kinda’ urgently.

    Thanks!

Do you have a URL to this site, or is it on a local machine.
      Does your (X)HTML Document validate?
      Does your CSS Validate.

Designing for IE is a pain in the ass. It is most likely a CSS problem, and a good start to fixing that is to make sure that your markup and stylesheets are valid to begin with.

If as the topic indicates this is happening with the default installed template, there’s something else going on, as those templates work just fine with IE.

The url is www.ilmgate.org ... works fine on firefox but not on IE 6 and 7.

          How do I do that?

Also, I’m using the built-in defautl ModxHost template.

Aside from the site being jumbled up, it’s showing the login box only on IE for some reason while I remember removing that.

From just a quick look you must have commented out some sections in the template incorrectly.
Try removing them and see if it displays correctly.

Run the url through this http://validator.w3.org/ and it will show you any errors in your HTML that might be giving IE problems.

                Thanks.

Yikes, I ran the validator ... found 10 errors.

Which file do we edit to edit the right sidebar? I can’t seem to find it anymore. It’s soooooooooo confusing and different. Please help.

Might help if you remove the password protection for the site!

In the MODx template the sidebar is mostly coded directly into the template. You can find the individual sections that make up the sidebar in the chunks section (Resources -> Manage Resources).

A chunk is a bit of html code that can be used/re-used as well as used to format the output of some snippets.
