I’m new to modx, and I’m finding it fun to use. I’m glad I started learning it.

Does anyone know if templates will be able to be edited externally through the file system in the future? Is that wishful thinking? I love modx so far, I’m just not keen on the clunky copy-paste thing. I guess I’ve gotten used to using coda’s inbuilt ftp to edit my wordpress templates. Not being developer, I don’t know whether this is a fundamental way of how modx is written.

Oh nice - it doesn’t fulfil my wish for external template files, but it’ll do the job. Probably isn’t on the devs’ list of priorities.

        Thanks mate!

Thanks again. Looks a little scary though. I think I might stick with the solution you suggested. wink

Ugh - getting an error when I I try to include the template. I seem to be getting some extra quotation marks:

              « MODx Parse Error »

MODx encountered the following error while attempting to parse the requested resource:
              « PHP Parse Error »

              PHP error debug
Error:	include(assets/templates/'960/content.html') [function.include]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory

I’m pretty sure I copied the code exactly:

use backticks ` instead of high commas ’ in your snippet call

                  Hah! rolleyes

It’s always the little things. Is it just a snippet thing - like & instead of $?
