Can anyone can help me with this simple probllem. I have setup a two column template.
In the left column i use the [*#content*] for the main content of the page.
In the right column i need to put text as well. What is the best way to do this
so that I can reuse the template acrross pages but there is more than one section of
text that is editable?
1. Do use a chuck for this? What is the best way to do it.
Thanks
I would imagine in this situation, have a look at TV’s (Template Variables), they are your good friends
I have read the modx documentation on template vars. I forgot to mention that
the same template is used for a couple pages with the text in the left column and right column
different for each page/document. Is that possible?
Product 1 - uses template_1
left column | right column
|
a | b
|
Product 2 - uses template_1
|
c | d
|
|
a,b,c,d represent the text that changes over the two pages.
a and c can be [*#content*] but what kind of template var should be
b and d be?
Thanks
Easiest way is to create another page for one of the columns and place a Ditto call to gather the content from the other page
So Basically if I have 15 product pages I’ll have another 15 pages just for the right hand column
of those 15 pages?
Seems a little long winded when all i need is another area that has some text in it
