I’m extremely new to MODX, but I really like what I have seen so far. I do however, want a different template. I found one that I like and downloaded and unzipped it, but now what? Where do I go to edit the file so it becomes live?

Thanks eternally from a blundering newbie,
    Tink

I’m sorry, I’m still confused. I read that page earlier before I posted here. It seems to show me how to make a new one from scratch, but... importing? Or should I just look in the folders for the new template and copy+paste the css?

Exactly! If it’s a MODx template, it will have something like TemplateName.template.html (everybody tends to name it differently), and it will be the actual HTML. If it’s from some other source, just use the HTML code.

You can do a View Source of a page you like and copy/paste that into the template field (copyright restrictions will apply, however; you can’t just "rip off" somebody else’s page). But this means you can use Dreamweaver or Rapidweaver or FrontPage or even tongue Word saved as html if you want to.

VERY NICE! It seems I was over complicating the process. It just makes me love MODX even more. Thank you very much for showing so much patience. I’ll try that and see if it works. I think I found the correct file to copy and paste. smiley

I figured it out with copy and paste. I ran into another error, but it was easily fixed by correcting the file path for the css.
