Hi...
I’m converting a [static] website for a non-profit and I’ve been thinking that a CMS based site might be a better idea for them so that they can upload photos, etc and also have a current ’blog’ of sorts without needing me to update their site.
Your product/website was mentioned in a discussion on an article on the SmashingMagazine website so I thought I would look y’all over.
I’ve NOT used any CMS product before but I do have design / css experience. However, I do NOT know PHP..??.. Is this a requirement ?
Also, the non-profit will need a way to accept financial donations -- is there a module built-in for that...or do I just link to ’paypal’ ?
Appreciate your comments / suggestions..
Many thanks,
Jann
Hi there is no need to learn PHP if you are transfering a mainly static site over, the only need to learn PHP is to be able to write snippets, for interactive/Database stuff. if you don’t need this you don’t need any php knowledge.
Look at the ditto snippet for doing a basic blog.
If it’s just for donations rather than sales I would personally just put a paypal donate button on the site.
Could you give a link to the current site then we can give a better idea as to any problems you might have transfering it.
