    Hi Everbody,
    I hope I’m not posting in the wrong place.

    I have a problem with the layout of the following site (Its not really published yet):

    http://www.schmidtstrasse.schule.bremen.de/index.php?id=63

    I have made up a maxigallery but while in my IE everthing is looking allright, in Firefox the content Area is not growing with the input.
    Has someone an idea what is the reason for that?

    Thanks

      Hey Nudibranch.

      It looks like the problem is that you’re floating the "main" id. Since you’re floating the maxigallery it takes it out of the document flow and so the size of the element is no expanded with the items in the gallery.

      If you add float:left to #main-unten and to #main in "basic.css" file then it should work. I got it working with just adding those two statements.

      Good luck. smiley

        Hi mbrinson,

        thank you so much. Your suggestion was what I thought, but when I tried last, it didn’ changed anything. Why?

        Do you see the tomatoes on my nudibranch? Thats how it is, really smiley
        Thanks to you, I "found" my forgotten css in the embedded style and everthings fine now.

        Thanks for help and good luck to you

          I had never heard of a "nudibranch" before! I had to go to wikipedia to find out what in the world you were talking about.

          Very cool. smiley

          Glad you figured it out. So, from your post it sounded like it was something other than what I pointed out?

            I have exactly the same problem with this page: http://bellands.com/index.php?id=4 but I don’t see how to apply your solution. It looks fine in everything but FF. I’m floating the #content div which may be causing the problem, but could use some help figuring out how to fix it. My advanced css troubleshooting skills leave a lot to be desired. embarrassed

            Note that some of the css sections are commented out.

              I couldn’t see any CSS for the photoGallery div,
              you could try
              #photoGallery {min-height:850px;}

              This works in FireFox, more work to do for IE I think!

                That fixed it. Thanks! It looks fine in IE7 and it used to look fine in IE6, although I haven’t checked lately.

                Now that it’s working, though, I see another issue. That gallery page is much narrower than the other pages in FF (but not in IE7).

                I have the same problem, only worse, with this page: http://www.bellands.com/index.php?id=13

                All the pages are using the same template so I can’t figure out why those two are rendered narrower.

                  Are they using the same template?
                  I can’t see why they’re different.
                  Removing
                  float:left;
                  from the CSS for #container
                  seems to fix it.

                    It sure does, although it makes me nervous. I can’t remember why I put that float there in the first place. Maybe to make some other browser happy.

                    Thanks!!
