    HI all,
I am a wordpress migrant newbie and after head scratching for a couple of days, have managed to unlearn ’the wordpress way’. Now I am all set to implement my portfolio website with MODx. However I needed help on the following...
I wish to make a template for the portfolio with a div containing the description of the client etc. and another div with the thumbnails. Is it possible to make the template such that when I want to enter a new project, I can enter the text and upload corresponding images, point to the images - and the page is ready to see - rather than handcoding the divs and inserting the images in the divs on the page?
Any pointers will help. I am not code-savvy so please go easy on the explanation.
    Thanks!

      Hi ganeshXL,
thanks for the guidance. will try this approach. This problem is slowly opening me to the possibilities of TVs. Being a former wordpress and TxP user, I could understand the templates, chunks, snippets part but TVs were (and still are to some extent) beyond me. But I can see the potential.
      Thanks

        Hi again,
The TV method works wonders. I have placed a TV named ProjectImages in the template and all I do is insert the image on the concerned page through the TV field. I am using this in conjunction with the ’thumb’ snippet to create hyperlinked thumbnails.
However when I wish to have multiple screenshots of the project on the page, how can I use the same TV multiple times? Or load multiple images throguh the same TV? (something like comma seperated...)?
Currently I use multiple TVs ProjectImages, ProjectImages1, ProjectImages3 in the template to load 3 images. However when there are only 2 images or 1 image on the page, there is a small placeholder visible on the page.
        Thanks.

Thanks! I will try some of your suggestions going ahead. But for now, I am trying another (albeit cruder) derivation. I have 4 TVs for 4 images ( I know I won’t exceed 4 images per project) . If I have only 3 images for a project, I just place a 1 pixel square transparent picture there. That avoids the ugly placeholders in the browser. As you rightly said, there truly are many ways to do it grin
          cheers
