should we have template competition?

Textpattern and WP have very very nice and very professional templates, I wonder here at Modx maybe we can have a template competition? maybe to celebrate new release of v 0.9.7?

Good idea ;-)

Nice idea, indeed when we started thing with textgarden back when I contributed to txp, it boosted template creation !
Anyone want to pick up the ball on this one ?

since I asked the question, I will chime in at least one template

If it’s to coincide with the release of 0.9.7, maybe the competition could go a little beyond just templating. I don’t have a grasp on 0.9.7’s capabilities yet, but I get the feeling it might be easier to package up a template with some default functionality. So if it’s to celebrate 0.9.7, let the community create some stuff that shows off the core’s versatility. Am I dreaming that this could happen?
I’m not a designer, but I’d be happy to take some cool open source template and do something fun with it.
