    All,
I used to think I was pretty smart on a basic HTML-based site with an Apache server. It was easy to understand. The server fields the request for index.html on port 80, it reads the index.html page, and forwards it back to the user. Now, I am about 90% of the way converting my site to MODx. I have hired an outside consulting form to do the job. But, now I feel that I don’t understand it at all.

I guess, if someone can point me to a sort-of tutorial on how it’s all put together, that would be great. I mean, where does PHP fit in? What about CSS? And MODx (which I know is just the database, but how and when is it used?)

I mean, I know the web server still fields the request, but then what happens? The developer said they use PHP and that he preserved all my old page names with .html extensions (to retain SEO). Then, I know CSS is involved somehow too.

Here is my current site: http://66.147.244.161/~callfor1/

    Can someone help???
