Hi all .. thrilled to be bearing down on the necessary climb to MODx beginner status. [as of .96 release date!]

No stranger to being in the dark, and making it out again. I’ll be concise as possible here.

    1) I’m using MODxHost for all my experiments.

    2) I would like to replace the Dropdown menu in MODxHost with:

    http://phatfusion.net/imagemenu/index.htm or similar.

    3) I saved the phatfusion page and ended up with the index.htm and a folder containing: imageMenu.css / imageMenu.js / main.css / mootools.js

    4) Did the obligatory few hours of this and that and go no result whatsoever. No surprise. No frustration!

    5) Studied the index file, which includes some info. it’s down below here ...

    6) i will now go back to the wiki and read and read and read...

May I ask if anyone could give me anything between, ’a brief indication as whether/how I create a TV based Chunk/Template index mods’ or even perhaps ’a fairly comprehensive shove in the right direction....’

    HUGE thanks...obviously!

    best wishes to ALL..

BELOW: MOST of the phatfusion index file which includes many clues for many of the gurus here I expect.

Here’s a good place to start at least as far as understanding how the actual menu is created (using mootools javascript lib). http://mootools.net/

        appreciated robot!
I’m fairly up on the requirements to get it operational with a virgin html page. links etc.

I fall WAY short at understanding WHAT I’d use/do to achieve ANY result with MODx .096.

FROM almost CLUELESS to SUCCESSFUL [running in documents]

in under 2 hours ... and a successful fumble with MaxiGallery [thank you!] I’m now using phatfusion imagemenu and electricprism slideshow going [in documents at this point]

After I’ve hopefully managed to deduce WHY ’what’s worked I’ll write back... errr... probably with a few more questions here or there...!
          I should mention ...

I am BLOWN AWAY by MODx it really does do more than I could have hoped for at ’working’ ...

I mean.... thru my attempts there were consistent indcations VISUALLY that I was ot wan’t on the right track...

I won’t bash my last CMS .... um.... actually can’t quite recall the name right now ...ooo..... [shudder]
          oh yeah...

Anyways... the freaking YEARS of gottchas feel like the past now.... and... modules and components [scripts re-purposed] which NEVER seemed to work right.... and of course pulling them apart would have felt even further in the wrong direction....

whew... please forgive the outburst.. I’m just jaw-dropped at the power and simplicity of MODx...
