Still having problems with "Basic Blog/News Site" setup

guys,

just installed modx, and started "Basic Blog/News Site" tutorial. And got some questions.

For example, about the installed snippets:

Make sure the following snippets are installed:

FlexSearchForm
PageTrail
DropMenu
WebLogin
NewsListing
UserComments
WebSignup
WebChangePwd
NewsPublisher
And the QuickEdit module and plugin.

In my Resouces->Manage Resources->Snippets I see only WebLogin, WebSignup, WebChangePwd from the list above. Where the others? Or they just have different name now...?

And about the template installation by itself:

Installation:
Unzip, upload the Light folder to your
/assets/templates folder. Create two new templates, Light and Light-post,
and copy/paste the text in the included template.html files.
Create the four chunks using the text of the included chunk.html files.

I have create 2 empty templates, and copied the source-code from template installation pack inside them. And did the same with chunks. Is it correct?

Hi... I think you are talking about 2 subjects... and it appears you have not installed ALL the stuff [snippets modules etc]

what about starting again with the new version out today! make sure you leave all the thinkgs that are checked checked... that way you get the VERY cool templates all installed to work with..

The second part of your post is the template tutorial that I also worked with a bit...

I figure you’ve not installed things right... .and you would [perhaps] not be able to get your blog site running easily with the template tutorial template.. though good you studied it!
