I am a little lost...which makes a change because I’m normally very lost. smiley

I am upgrading my website www.adrianlawley.com and as you can see there is currently a picture at the top right in every one of the pages showing different toys. Unfortunately if I change the template these are still there because I hard coded them in there. Looks to me like the TV with an image widget is the answer so this is what I do:

create a TV called [*insert_image*] select widget type Image set the alignment to right, give it an alt text and Name, make it accessable by my current template and save. Go into the first page...found the field at the bottom where I can select the image, done that and inserted it into the page using [*insert_image*]...and OMG - it works.

My only problem now is assigning the alt text and name differently for each document. Is this possible, and if so how? Otherwise I’m stuck with using a generalised alt text for every image? I tried setting the alternate text whilst setting up the TV to [*description*] hoping it would take the document description, which would have been a great start...but without any joy.

    Thanks for any pointers!

On a sidenote I have to say I love how easy it is to update the site. Quick and simple...apart from when im inserting a swf...but thats a TinyMCE problem it would appear...FCKEditor works fine.

    Cheers,
    Taff

The answer for anyone as silly as me is painfully simple...create a text widget TV thingy and then apply it in the Image TV. So Alternate text would be [*text_for_image*] if thats the name of your TV containing the alt text. If you want it to display the text on mouse over with FF you need to set a title in the attributes too. title="[*text_for_image*]"

On a sidenote, using the widget to align right doesnt work, you have to set it in the attributes as well?!

      All the best,
      Taff
