Very new to this and just getting my head round TVs one bit at a time.

I created a TV to show an image. I placed the TV in my template and, in a page that uses that template, I inserted an image but all I get when the page is viewed is a text representation of the path to the image. Tried using an absolute URL to the image and still getting the same result.

    Any ideas?

To use a TV for images, set its input type to "image", and also set its output widget to "image" and configure the widget (when you select "image" as the widget type, the configuration fields will show).

Thankyou! Setting myself several test projects with Modx which are working out very nicely.

I’m having difficulty understanding the TV and TV/widget relationship!

I’ve read what tutorials I can find but it just isn’t sticking!

Here’s how I see it - A TV, once created, can be added to a page or to a template. The user can then enter text or images in such a way that they will fall into place on that page as predefined in the TV.

So where does the widget come in to play?

What would I do if I wanted to create, say a catalogue page, where on that page each ’product’ has a code, title, description, price, image - and I want multiple products on a page - is this possible?

If it is - is it possible to grab all this info from some sort of database?

Am I asking too many questions? grin

Each product as a single document. title, description are predefined, the other items could easily be filled in with TVs. For an overview use ditto.
