    Hi,
I’ll started using ModX, and my first steps are to get used to the manager, changing odds and ends, creating the odd page etc, etc.

I have however just noticed that whilst I’d been playing, somewhere along the line...all my links ceased to work.

Can anyone tell what stupid mistake I have made, and how to get them back? It’s getting quite frustrating.

Thanks to anyone with any idea.

    Taff

Have you enabled friendly urls in the configuration settings, but haven’t renamed the ht.access file?

If this is the case, make sure you rename both ht.access files to .htaccess; there is one in the root to start it working, and one in the /manager folder to shut it down since you don’t need it for the manager.

I found that solution whilst searching and checked, unfortunately I havent enabled them(and when I did I just kept getting 500 errors :-( ). So, I’m still a little stuck.

Since posting I think it maybe a template error on my behalf. I was playing with one of the templates that came with the installation, and was playing with it to see how easy things are. Creating new pages and that is a daudle. After rechecking I have noticed that the lower links also work, so maybe I have just created a div layer over the rest.

If anyone gets time to take a look, it’s been uploaded to http://www.lawley.de/relaunch I was actually playing with it locally, but decided that if it is online others can probably help me more smiley. Installation of it online was a piece of cake, unlike when I tried to install Mambo a couple of years back. So well done to everyone involved in that!

Thanks again for your help. I enjoy ModX’ing.

I’ve had this happen a couple of times, I believe that it had something to do with positioned elements, and a z-index setting in the css solved the problem; but I can’t quite remember. I’ve got to start taking notes on these things.

It’s definitely a CSS issue, because all of the links work just fine if styling is turned off.

Just this second solved it...which is good cos I broke it in the first place...my trigger finger was too fast on the CSS and I set my AjaxMenu div height to 800. Sorry

Thought I was good to go now, then looked at it in IE and the top of the content is being chopped off....back to the drawing board.

In reply to the witing things down, I agree totally! Don’t you hate trying to find a solution and going down a road, you know for sure you went down not so long back.

Thanks for your help and time.

                  Thank you.

Still playing with it. Sorted out the top line not showing on IE, moved it all down 15px. with padding-top. Just started a new part time job on the side updating a site for www.car-akustik.de . As you can see a lot of work is required, I’m trying to get them onto a CMS (hopefully this one) as they have updates daily. I did the Flash file after you click on the map at the bottom. The old version was terrible to update, this one can be done dynamically.

                  Thanks again, for your help.
