This is a great project, it took me a little searching to finally decide on Modx.

I’m starting off with a template to mod and have installed 3 different ones with varying results. First was AX07 but the drop menu didn’t even show up when I previewed my page. Same thing happenend for ’Step’. The last template I tried was ’Mollio’ and this template seems to work ok, the top menu at least work, but the side menu doesn’t work.

The main thing I’m after is getting the horizontal drop down menu from the step template to work like in the example page. I have modx0.9.5 and read that I should update scriptalicious.js to get over some of my problems. so i downloaded and installed in assets/js.

Could someone please let me know why some template menus work and others do not?

    Thanks a bunch

Did you also install the requisite menu chunk-templates?

wow that was a quick reply!

For Ax07 and Mollio there was no menu chunks to install in the download. For the step template there was a ’rightnews-chunk’ that I added as a chunk and attached to the ’step’ template.

Is this what you’re talking about or do I have to download a chunk from another resource?

I’ve never installed those snippets, but I certainly imagine they will need some custom chunks for the menus, and likely some specific snippets. Molio might even be still using an (old deprecated) dropmenu snippet call I’d hazard a guess.

ok there’s more to templates than just downloading. haha silly me.

So you say I’ll need to make custom chunks/snippets to make the drop down menu work.

Do all templates require the input of custom chunks/snippets, or is this an issue with individual templates?
Could you point me in the right direction to read up on getting drop down menus to work?

            thanks again!

If a search for "Mollio menu" fails, start here: http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php/board,182.0.html

Step template works without chunks but need the javascript.
AX07 use WayFinder (like mollio) and you need to copy and paste all chunks included in the ax07 package (ie: axInner, axOuuter...).
There are 6 chunks in ax07 template package.
