Right, I know exactly what I want to do, but I don’t know how to do it on MODx.
All I want to do is make it so that an error page (that I have created already) shows up when anyone tries to visit the site, cos it has a redirect-y link on it.
How do I make this page show up whenever someone tries to visit the site? I suppose I want it to override any other page on the site and appear!

    Thanks,

Check the first page of the site configuration (in the manager) to set the ID for the not-found and the unauthorized pages.

But isn’t there a way just to set it as the default page that coes up when the site is accessed? I want to make the home page NOT appear anymore, and this one to appear instead, but preferably appear if ANY part of the site is accessed...

Make the default site start page a weblink. Set the default site start page in the Configuration menu.

I think you are asking for "Site Offline" mode?

if yes, on the same page you can find:

            Site status: (select "offline")
Site unavailable page: (enter your error page id here).

            hope this helps.

That’s the one! Thank you very much!
