Hello,
I’m totally lost with charset problems, neither google nor trial-and-error (only error

) could solve my problem. Maybe one of the enlightened gurus here could provide a solution?
I’m running the Gallery2 module on a german site, thus I have to deal with german "umlaute" and other special chars.
At the admin side, everything is displayed fine, the problem exists only at the userside. You can see the userside at:
http://bischof.homelinux.net/modx/index.php?id=4
for example at the fourth row: "Die folgenden Bilderalben sind verfügbar", the last word should be "verfügbar".
I tried charset=iso-8859-1, iso-8859-15, utf-8, but without success. I also tried different doctype- and xml-definitions, without success too. I even put @charset "utf-8"; in the css.
The admin side has charset 8859-1 in the frameset definition (I guess via Administration::Preferences) and the frame, which displays the gallery module, shows:
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd">
<html>
<head>
<title>Gallery Module</title>
<style>
body {
margin: 0px;
}
</style>
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="http://bischof.homelinux.net/modx/gallery2/modules/icons/iconpacks/paularmstrongdesigns/icons.css"/>
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="http://bischof.homelinux.net/modx/gallery2/themes/matrix/theme.css"/>
</head>
I tried to use this 1:1 for the userside, but my problem remains.
Anyone’s got a clue? Any help is greatly appreciated!
