    Ok, so I have finally managed to create a backup zip file using BkupMODX! Now, how do I now take this file and upload it to a new MODX installation, I want a carbon copy of my current website on a different URL complete with all the snippets, chunks etc. Can anyone help with this. Thanks in advance for any advice.

      Let’s assume you are replicating this site on your PC, i.e. localhost. And let’s assume that BkupModx has already been installed there. The name for my local version of this website example (under XAMPP) is bkuptest.
      - Point your browser to the BkupModx location, in my case, http://localhost/bkuptest/backup
      - After entering your login info, you get an intro screen.
      - After selecting "Tools" in the upper right corner, you should get a menu of options.
      - After selecting "Upload" from the menu, you should be prompted for the archive filename.
      - Enter the name of your backedup-and-downloaded ZIP archive containing the website. This should upload it to your site.
      - Then, if I recall, you select the "Archive" tool in order to extract and import the archive into your site.
      (Checking all this against the README.TXT should tell if I’ve missed anything).

      I think that about covers it ...

        Has anyone managed to get the archiving working using BkupMODx? Whenever I try I get
        ModelZip::zipDirsExt - ERROR: base_path in config not writable - /home/example/public_html/example/
        error.

        I go and change the permission rights of the folder "example" to 777 but then when I try and open the ZIP file selected nothing happens the page just jumps to the homepage of the MODx site???

        Any ideas? Surely there must be a comprehensive and reliable backup solution for MODx???????? [ed. note: dubbs last edited this post 9 years, 5 months ago.]
