Look very Nice but what do I have to do with all the chunk ? do I have to create/copy them
in modx ou al i suppose to copy them somewhere ?

    Thanks in advance.

nb : I think there’s a need for a tutorial to explain how to install templates (specially with
    scriptaculos..chunk)

      alchime,

That’s one of the best thing about MODx. You don’t have any specific templating tutorial, because there is no templating logic that you need to learn in MODx. Everything is so similar with static page.

When you try to install a template created by one of our artists in here, basically they got their own logic of templating that they apply it to MODx. So it is always depend on the template that you’re choosing.

Here is a little tips on how to install somebody else templates:
Make sure whether they have an additional snippets, chunks, or template variables on their template, usually you can find it inside the template itself. For TV or page variables (informations that you enter when creating a new document, usually [*content*], [*pagetitle*], and etc) you will have tag that looks just like this [*tv_name*]. For snippets it will be something looks like this [[snippet_name]] or [!snippet_name!]. For chunks it will looks like this {{chunk_name}}. You go to your manager and visit the manage resources administration and make sure that you have all the required chunks, snippets, and Template variables on your resources, if not, usually the template had provide you with a content that you can put to create a new resources.

      Hope it helps.

Hi in backinblack template you have 4 name-chunk.html files - you need only create 4 chunks with the same name (without ’-chunk.html’ wink ) and copy and paste the code.

          - only example-validate-chunk.html chunk, you need to personalize it with your url and template path is (and will be validate chunk).

          - upload assets directory in your modx root
          - copy and paste backinblack-template.html in a new template

Sorry if i forgot install.txt rolleyes

I’m a modx newbee too, so i know what you mean but I cannot help you. I have the same problem ;-)

Nice template, backinblack, but it won’t work properly with me too.
When I check the apache error-log it says it cannot find a lot of objects which backinblack refers to (e.g. bgpagediv.gif).
The backinblack-template and the included site.css seem to refer to locations or objects that do not exist.
Some referred obejcts are on a different location or they don’t exist at all...

I guess I did something wrong, though I followed the template install instructions on a standard modx environment.
I downloaded backinblack v 1.1 (which uses dropmenu instead of wayfinder), is there a more recent version?
Can someone instruct me how to use this template?

                  Hello,

You can find the latest version here: http://modxcms.com/BackinBlack-1055.html and you can find some information about converting from dropmenu to wayfinder here: http://wiki.modxcms.com/index.php/Wayfinder

That should get you going, but chances are there might be more work involved to update the template depending on how it’s coded.

I tried the template, but only the top-level of the menu is shown (although the lower levels of the menu are there if I look in the page source). Could anyone guess what I did wrong?

                    Thanks!
                    Best regards,

                      Look’s Great

I clicked on Validator on bottom of Page found errors.

I have found same problem on other pages on site.

This is not a crit but I am sure you would like to know as by using logo you are implying the code is valid.

Unfortunately I am unable at present to help fix these (not enough Knowlege)
