I am in big trouble here..I was trying to back my site up and now I get this message:
Warning: require_once(./includes/protect.inc.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: Permission denied in /home/content/s/e/v/sevenagain/html/manager/index.php on line 59
Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required ’./includes/protect.inc.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/local/php5/lib/php’) in /home/content/s/e/v/sevenagain/html/manager/index.php on line 59
I was messing with permissions in the manager/includes folder and now it will not access this folder at all, does anyone have any idea what I can do here?? Thanks

What exactly were you doing when you were "messing" with permissions? Were you using an FTP client to change permissions? Or were you doing something inside the MODx manager?
It’s always good to write down what you do when making server tweaks... then you know how to undo what you did.
Yes I feel so stupid. I was originally trying to make a back up but kept getting an error as it kept telling me I was missing the config.inc file. I wasn’t but the base URL wasn’t correct so I altered this. Then I used ftp to start playing with permissions on the includes folder. Now I am locked out of this folder and my website is of course completely out of action. Any ideas how I can resolve this at all, I am a desperate man. Thanks for any help in advance.
Just to be clear, I was trying to make a back up of the whole site. How things can backfire! I played with the settings in MODX but didn’t think I’d saved them, then it told me that I should set permissions on my folders as they were left open, so I went to ftp to ensure this was done, then it all went horribly wrong.

If it’s only a permission issue, can you change the permission from cpanel?
If you have already make it run, use
PHPIDS plugins.
