    This must be related to session configuration, but I’m not sure what exactly the problem could be. Please update us if you figure out any details.

      I ran across this error helping someone out today with their setup, in the end we reinstalled PHP Using the Microsoft FastCGI and it all works perfectly now.

        Thanks Aaron; I am now developing on IIS 7.5 using FastCGI; even got xDebug working with PhpStorm with it, thanks to a week of hanging out with engineers from the Microsoft IIS, SQL Server, and InterOp teams. It’s nice to have a good working development environment on Windows, so maybe I can better assist with Windows issues moving forward. smiley

          Good to know I’m not the only one having the problem then, I was going crazy over this! grin

          Since I found a very helful guy at the hosting company, should I suggest that he installs (or reinstalls in case it’s already being used) microsoft fastcgi on the server?

          Is there any fast php script that can echo the version of cgi that is being used currently on the server?

          This is the biggest ISP/Hosting company in Greece so it would be great if I could figure out how to make ModX running there, especially since they’re offering a preinstalled older version that doesn’t even work. undecided

            Hi

            You can check the PHP Version by uploading a php file i.e. test.php with the following as its content
            <?php

            phpinfo();

            ?>

                fastcgi did the trick! thanks to everyone who helped! grin

                Only drawback is that in order to enable fastcgi they had to switch off the cpu limiting for my server and they’ll keep it as far as the site doesn’t cause much traffic. smiley

                So modx isn’t too keen on iis server without fastcgi. Maybe this could be changed to enhance compatibility with more servers, would be great. cool
