Does anyone know what the password would be when modx is installed with Microsoft Web Platform Installer? I can’t remember being prompted for this during the install and I have no idea now how to login. The only prompt I remember was during MySQL database creation, but that username and password didn’t work.

Hi,
During the install it does ask you to choose the admin password for the MODx Manager, the best and easiest way to fix this would be for you to uninstall the MODx install from IIS Manager and then run the install again.
Let me know if you still have any problems.
Thanks
Do you know at what point it would of asked me this? All I was prompted with from MS Web Platform was information for the database. Is that the point I get prompted for a password for modx?

Hi,
It would be on the same screen where you are asked:
* MODx Administrator Username
* MODx Administrator Password
* MODx Administrator Email Address
* Website Session Key
I can double check this evening and run the install direct from the gallery installer to make sure.
Thanks
Okay, I remember that screen and I think it did ask me those questions, I just can’t seem to get the username and password I remember using to work. I tried to recover and I know I entered the same email I put in during install time but it tells me it doesn’t recognize that email.
Is there anyway to modify the MySQL database and just update it with a username, password, email. I have some experience in MySQL so if that is an option I would be fine with that.

Hi,
Yes you could edit the database, do you have phpmyadmin installed on your server?
If so log into this and edit the table modx_manager_users
In here you should see a record for the user you setup, click edit and then type in the new password selecting field type MD5.
Let me know how you get on.
Thanks Aaron
