I have followed the steps in the Installation PDF where I add my machine’s IUSR account to have modify + write permissions to the folder. I can bring up a test.php file (with php info) in it. I can bring up the index.php with the "Install Now" link in red. But I click that link and get a blank page after it.
I have MODx set to its test port for dev/evaluation, to mimic being a site root. I use this technique all the time for dev sites (past 6+ years at least), and have successfully installed Joomla 1.5.14, Drupal 6.14, WordPress 2.8.4, PHPBB3, and MediaWiki within the past few days and weeks. All are working fine. But this install of MODx is going nowhere fast.
