Been looking around and all the solutions I have seen on this forum cost or don’t work 100%. I have managed to find this:

    http://iirf.codeplex.com/

    Ionic’s Isapi Rewrite Filter
Ionic’s Isapi Rewrite Filter, aka IIRF, is a small, FREE, easy to use, URL rewriting ISAPI filter. It combines a good price (free!) with good features. It is fast and powerful. It works on IIS 5.0, 5.1, 6.0, and 7.0.

I think that it should work fine, just a case of adjusting any old .htaccess to work on this.

    My .htacces is:

    # Vital components of your .htaccess file
    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteBase /

    # Force “www.yourdomain.com” instead of just “yourdomain.com”
    RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} .
    RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^www\.website\.org.uk [NC]
    RewriteRule (.*) http://www.website.org.uk/client/arc/$1 [R=301,L]

    # The Friendly URLs part
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
    RewriteRule ^(.*)$ index.php?q=$1 [L,QSA]

Could anyone tell me if that would work with this Ionics Isapi filter?

I have attached the readme txt file for it, in there it tells every little detail about all the rewriting functions it has etc..

      Hi,

I’m using http://www.helicontech.com/isapi_rewrite/ on a Windows server with IIS. The .htaccess for modx works without any modifications.
      But it’s not free.

Yeah thats the main reason I am trying to try this, I am speaking with the host about getting the addon checked and installed. If I get any results in the end I will let people know.
