    Hi.

At the moment I maintain 3 MODx sites running on Win Server 2k3 Std SP2 - IIS / MySQL / PHP.
MySQL and PHP versions are current to within the last couple of weeks.

All servers are currently of running 0.9.6 or 0.9.6.1p2

I have numerous issues, relating to any version above this.

Issues with installing, with database connectivity during the tests (0.9.6.3), or if an install completes (0.9.6.2 from memory) the manager is painfully slow to load.
The database connectivity, will either do nothing upon the first database test, but be successfull on the second, or if successful on the first, incorrectly pull the details regarding collation types from the database and causing other issues.

On an upgrade to 0.9.6.3 replacing all files/components in the default site, but not a fresh install, the manager was also painfully slow to load the file tree and other components.

At this point, I have either used an older install of 0.9.6 for a clean install, or rolled back the upgrade to 0.9.6.1p2 rather then attempting to diagnose this further.
For reference, the clean install was tried on two different servers, both freshly configured with PHP/MySQL and able to connect to the database via PHPMyAdmin.

In all cases where I have had issues with the later versions, either an install, or upgrade with lower versions has been successful.
To me this indicates, that there is something in the newer installer, and the newer manager which is having numerous issues running on sites that previously, or currently support 0.9.6 or 0.9.6.1p2.

I do however have 0.9.6.2 running on a Mac OS Server 10.5.6 without any major issues.

At the moment I don’t plan on trying 0.9.6.3 or later releases for a while due to this, and other time constraints that require me to concentrate on other projects.

We have over 20 sites using the latest release on IIS, Windows 2k3.

Performance wise the install is rather quick and MODx runs just as quick as previous versions.

Do you get any errors during install?

What version of PHP and MySQL are you running?
