    Hello,

After a successful installation of v0.9.6.3 and making sure to assign world-writable permissions even to ALL my doc-root folders, browsing to: http://www.celebrities-galore.com/manager/ generates the warning massages below.

My apologies if this issue was addressed somewhere else in the documentation/wiki/forum. I did my best to search them all prior to posting this message.

    Here are the errors:

Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at C:\Inetpub\vhosts\celebrities-galore.com\httpdocs\manager\includes\config.inc.php:1) in C:\Inetpub\vhosts\celebrities-galore.com\httpdocs\manager\Index.php on line 148

    Please help.

    Thanks,

This is my first time at installing Modx on my site. I’ve following the installation instructions, the first problem was that the config.inc.php file could not be created so I copied and pasted the contents as instructed. The next step informed me to log into MODx Admin by pointing your browser at YourSiteName.com/manager/

When I do this I get the following errors:

Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at C:\Inetpub\vhosts\mysite\httpdocs\modx\manager\includes\config.inc.php:1) in C:\Inetpub\vhosts\mysite\httpdocs\modx\manager\index.php on line 148

Warning: session_start() [function.session-start]: Cannot send session cookie - headers already sent by (output started at C:\Inetpub\vhosts\mysite\httpdocs\modx\manager\includes\config.inc.php:1) in C:\Inetpub\vhosts\mysite\httpdocs\modx\manager\includes\config.inc.php on line 60

Warning: session_start() [function.session-start]: Cannot send session cache limiter - headers already sent (output started at C:\Inetpub\vhosts\mysite\httpdocs\modx\manager\includes\config.inc.php:1) in C:\Inetpub\vhosts\mysite\httpdocs\modx\manager\includes\config.inc.php on line 60

Warning: fclose(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in C:\Inetpub\vhosts\mysite\httpdocs\modx\manager\includes\accesscontrol.inc.php on line 131

My setup on my web host is:

        Modx 0.9.6.3
        MySQL client version: 5.0.22
        PHP 5.2.6 (run as cgi)
        IIS

Any suggestions on where to look to resolve this one?

the first problem was that the config.inc.php file could not be created
This sounds like a perms problem.

Warning: fopen(C:/Inetpub/vhosts/mysite/httpdocs/modx/manager/media/style//login.html) [function.fopen]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in C:\Inetpub\vhosts\mysite\httpdocs\modx\manager\includes\accesscontrol.inc.php on line 129
This is the ’manager losing its theme directory’ prob that sometimes crops up, without looking I think this is to do with the cache files, in your case you may not be able to write to them if your perms are wrong

Are you sure you got all green OK’s on the summary page when you installed?
Use MODx, or the cat gets it!

OK I’ve solved the issue, as per the above suggestion about NTFS permissions above.

For the other IIS users that may be getting this, check your IUSR_[localmachine] security settings. Mine were not setup with read write perrmissions so I tweaked them and bobs your uncle, I have a working site!

Feel free to mail me/post here if you want me to walk you though this.

In windows explorer navigate to your website C:/Inetpub/vhosts/mysite/

right click httpdocs and select properties then click the security tab.

In here you should have an acocunt listed for the website user starting with ISUR_ select this and under the permissions click Modify to give the account the following rights

                    modify
                    read and execute
                    list folder contents
                    read
                    write

Now click the Advanced button and select replace permissions entries on all child objects with entries shown here....

Then press ok to come out you will be asked to confirm and select Yes.

Your site should work, if you have any problems let me know what version of windows you have it installed on etc.
