    Hi all,

I’m doing a clean install on the following server:
    Microsoft-IIS/6.0
    PHP Version 4.4.6
    MySql: 3.23.49

Everything seems to go OK.  I load the Manager Login page and get the following:

Warning: fopen(C:/WVH/Domains/earlpaddock.com/ROOT/Inetpub/wwwroot/manager/media/style//login.html) [function.fopen]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in C:\WVH\Domains\earlpaddock.com\ROOT\Inetpub\wwwroot\manager\includes\accesscontrol.inc.php on line 130

Warning: filesize() [function.filesize]: Stat failed for C:/WVH/Domains/earlpaddock.com/ROOT/Inetpub/wwwroot/manager/media/style//login.html (errno=2 - No such file or directory) in C:\WVH\Domains\earlpaddock.com\ROOT\Inetpub\wwwroot\manager\includes\accesscontrol.inc.php on line 131

Warning: fread(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in C:\WVH\Domains\earlpaddock.com\ROOT\Inetpub\wwwroot\manager\includes\accesscontrol.inc.php on line 131

Warning: fclose(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in C:\WVH\Domains\earlpaddock.com\ROOT\Inetpub\wwwroot\manager\includes\accesscontrol.inc.php on line 132
PHP Warning: fopen(C:/WVH/Domains/earlpaddock.com/ROOT/Inetpub/wwwroot/manager/media/style//login.html) [function.fopen]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in C:\WVH\Domains\earlpaddock.com\ROOT\Inetpub\wwwroot\manager\includes\accesscontrol.inc.php on line 130 PHP Warning: filesize() [function.filesize]: Stat failed for C:/WVH/Domains/earlpaddock.com/ROOT/Inetpub/wwwroot/manager/media/style//login.html (errno=2 - No such file or directory) in C:\WVH\Domains\earlpaddock.com\ROOT\Inetpub\wwwroot\manager\includes\accesscontrol.inc.php on line 131 PHP Warning: fread(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in C:\WVH\Domains\earlpaddock.com\ROOT\Inetpub\wwwroot\manager\includes\accesscontrol.inc.php on line 131 PHP Warning: fclose(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in C:\WVH\Domains\earlpaddock.com\ROOT\Inetpub\wwwroot\manager\includes\accesscontrol.inc.php on line 132

Because of the double slashes here:

    C:/WVH/Domains/earlpaddock.com/ROOT/Inetpub/wwwroot/manager/media/style//login.html

it is suggested that the variable $manager_theme is not been read/written or whatever - as you can see on accesscontrol.inc.php on line 130, or it’s not being created (accesscontrol.inc.php line 68)

If I hardcode the theme name in and login OK, i get a bunch more errors once inside Manager.  I suspect they may have the same cause.

    Does anyone have any ideas?

    Glenn

BTW, this is the same problem as in thread:
    http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php/topic,20407.0.html

    but the issue went unresolved.

I have been able to correct a bit of this and I can login the Manager using this hack:

      * Move all of the files in "/manager/media/style/MODxLight/" into "/manager/media/style/"

This, I’m sure, isn’t the best way to deal with this issue, but it works for now.

Once in, you cannot save any setting or document.  You get the following warning:

Warning: fopen(../assets/cache/siteCache.idx.php) [function.fopen]: failed to open stream: Permission denied in C:\WVH\Domains\earlpaddock.com\ROOT\Inetpub\wwwroot\manager\processors\cache_sync.class.processor.php on line 215
Cannot open file (../assets/cache/siteCache.idx.php)PHP Warning: fopen(../assets/cache/siteCache.idx.php) [function.fopen]: failed to open stream: Permission denied in C:\WVH\Domains\earlpaddock.com\ROOT\Inetpub\wwwroot\manager\processors\cache_sync.class.processor.php on line 215

which, according to other posts, is a result of the cache files not being writable.  So, my question is:

How do you make the cache directory and files writable in Windows IIS 6.0?
I have shared hosting and don’t have access to the server directly. I’m at my client’s mercy here.

I’ve just hit the same problem with an upgrade of a 0.9.6-rc1 site to -rc2.

Your suggestion of copying the MODxLight styles worked for me, but I agree -- this needs to be sorted out.

The problem is pretty clear on this:
PHP Warning: fopen(../assets/cache/siteCache.idx.php) [function.fopen]: failed to open stream: Permission denied in [...]

This file has to be writable by the PHP process.

I had the same problem and the thing is that the server drop the connection during the upload and files are missing and you don’t see it. It’s too long.
So you have to do the upload process with only few folders at the same time.
                Hope this help
