    Hello,

    Windows 2003 SBS
    IIS6
    Mysql 5.0.51b
    MODX 0.9.6.1

Went through the install and at the DB connection page I, input the database information, and after putting in localhost and username and password, I try the "Test Connection" button. It then takes me to another blank page,
with nothing on it except the Modx header and some styling on the page (with green and black bars), and the version number "MODx version 0.9.6.1". Basicaly the same screen if you don’t input anything and press test connection.

    Added the DB manually and created a new user in MYSQL with all permissions and get the point of a screen that shows;
    Pre-install validation
Setup has carried out a number of checks to see if everything’s ready to start the setup.
    Checking PHP version: OK!
Checking if sessions are properly configured: OK!
Checking if assets/cache directory exists: OK!
Checking if assets/cache directory is writable: OK!
Checking if assets/cache/siteCache.idx.php file is writable: OK!
Checking if assets/cache/sitePublishing.idx.php file is writable: OK!
Checking if assets/images directory exists: OK!
Checking if assets/images directory is writable: OK!
Checking if assets/export directory exists: OK!
Checking if assets/export directory is writable: OK!
Checking if manager/includes/config.inc.php exists and is writable: OK!
    Creating connection to the database:

Just sits there. No buttons to click of errors.

I am new to this and followed everything in the instructions.
One other item on this server is it also has SQL 2005 as part of SBS and Blackberry Enterprise server.
Not sure if that could be conflicting in any way.

I telnet to MySQL and it replies.
I am doing this config all on the actual server.

I’ve seen a few others posting the same issue but no resolution is posted.

    Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance!

Can you connect with PHP using the MySQL extension though? MySQL can be configured perfectly, but if the PHP compile is not configured with proper support for the MySQL extension, and with a MySQL client lib that works with the MySQL server and PHP version, it’s not going to work.

Thanks Opengeek,You gave me a path to look.

It turns out I was missing some files in the ext directory of PHP.
The Zip file I downloaded from Yahoo was missing some (Only had 45 total), I downloaded from a differnt site and put in all the ones I was missing (Total in ther is 117 now). Everything started working.

        Thanks again!

On the PHP site, under downloads, I picked the 4th one down, which seemed to be missing the files and gave me the problems.

Oh, you mean you downloaded PHP! We all thought you meant you downloaded MODx from Yahoo, and were puzzled... shocked
