Install MODx in IIS - getting Execute access is denied

    I’m using Windows 2003 with IIS 6.0, PHP 5, and MySQL 5 installed. I’m trying to install MODx version 0.961p2

    I receive the following error when I go to the installation page:
    HTTP Error 403.1 - Forbidden: Execute access is denied.

    I’ve followed the instructions in this document "MODx_on_IIS.pdf", but that still didn’t help. I even tried setting the execute permissions in IIS from "Scirpts Only" to "Scripts and Executables", but no luck. I also enabled/allowed CGI and ISAPI extensions in Web Service Extensions.

    Any ideas on what I missed?

      Hi

      In IIS Admin for the site go into properties then click the home directory tab.

      Ensure you have: Scripts only selected in the execute permissions section.

        ok, I have scripts only selected for the web site, but I’m still getting the same error. Anything else I can try?

          YAHOO! I was able to successfully get it installed an working! I’m definitely loving it! I had missed the correct security setting in windows explorer.
