Windows Server 2003 64-bit version with IIS, fully patched.
    64-bit php from http://fusionxlan.com/PHPx64.php
    64-bit mySQL from http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/mysql/5.0.html

I can start the install but when I press the Test Connection button on the database setup screen, it takes me to a screen full of colorful lines with no text. (see attachment) If I try to continue on anyway, everything checks out ok but it just sits on the line "Creating connection to the database:" and never finishes.

The MySQL install is fine, I can connect to it both locally and remotely using the MySQL administrator.

I am running the install from Internet Explorer 7.

    Any ideas?

There may be a MySQL bug ... 5.0.51 has other problems. Moving to the Windows/IIS support section.

What version of MySQL do you suggest?

          Not 5.0.51? lol

Other than that I have no clue, particularly when it comes to 64-bit IIS.

It’s not a mysql problem. I installed IIS and php on an XP machine and pointed the database connection to the 64-bit server and it worked.
