    IIS 6
    PHP 5.2.4
    MySQL 5.0.45
    MODx 0.9.6.1

I currently have an install loop occurring with MODx 0.9.6.1 on act=language during an install.

I have attempted to downgrade this server at another stage to a previous version of PHP, but this runs into issue with the other applications currently installed on this server.

Given the nature of these systems, and that I am attempting to implement MODx for internal use among tech’s only, I am interested to know if there is any fix to this, that doesn’t involve changing versions of PHP or MySQL.
    IIS is also required.

Tracked it down to an issue with sessions.

Can anyone see where I am going wrong?

Your session save path looks strange

      Mine is set as:

      session.save_path D:\PHP\sessiondata D:\PHP\sessiondata

try changing it to just the directory where you run PHP Sessions from and also make sure it is writeable by the IIS Worker account.

I am having the same problem with the install but I am not about to go ajusting php.ini to accomodate modx...
Reason being that so many sites run well on the server with the settings just as they are - including many other cms installs using sessions and mysql. How come modx won’t run? - this is the problem. Does modx need something of an unusual setting in php.ini?

Finally - can modx be installed manually - is there a config file?

        Thanks for the help!
