what are the issues with running modx on windows?

A new client wants to use a nice cms like modx but they only have a windows 2003 server.
what issues, if any, are there with running modx on a windows box?

Hi, as far as I know the only real "issue" is with friendly URLs, the "problem" is that IIS (windows web server) does not have a free module like Apache has with mod_rewrite and there are problems with the 404 and 405 method you mention when using forms (read http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php/topic,10915.msg81058.html#msg81058).
Anyway, there are two options for IIS that I’m aware of: one is using ISAPI rewrite (http://www.isapirewrite.com) which is a commercial product (with one free limited version) and the other is Ionics Isapi Rewrite Filter (http://www.codeplex.com/IIRF/).

I’ve been using MODx on my Windows 2003 Hosting server now for about 1 year now so far no problems I’ve also got a few customers who use it on my servers aswell.

As the previous posts say mod_rewrite is not part of IIS but you can get ISAPI filters either free or better versions which are paid for and then you can use FURLs.
