Folder for separate system admin now not accessible after modx install

Panic!

I have just launched a new site in modx (replaced an old site) which seems to be working great -

The site has a separate system which is administered in a folder but we can no longer access the folder as it keeps pushing us to the modx new site home page.

i.e. www.mysite.co.uk/other-system-admin-folder-name/ (just pushes us back to the root home page)

Is there a way I can force it to not rewrite this folder and allow access into this non-modx folder?

Weird - the folder I’m trying to access has basic password protection with a htaccess file inside - if I delete this I can access the folder contents, but I need it to be protected! Can’t understand why modx would affect this?

Managed to find an answer - some others in the forum had this same issue thankfully - here’s the solution:
