A client already has a hosting account with a certain company which shall remain nameless at this point. Company’s tech support says:
"Unfortunately, we don’t support InnoDB storage engine on our MySQL servers. However, rest of the requirements are supported on our platform."

I’m frankly not sure whether this would make a serious difference or not - would appreciate any advice! I plan to use Evo for the new site.

    Thanks for any opinions!

If I recall correctly InnoDB is mainly used with transaction related databases, where money is involved, or other related tasks requiring better tracking. It shouldn’t be a problem when used with MODx.

My only suggestion, if the host is MT and you plan to use/try Revo ever, get a new host first.

Thanks for your reply, very helpful! smiley

The client’s host is iPower. They seem like a host for E-Z-Sites but the account offers enough space, so I guess I’ll give things a try and see how it all goes.

No, not planning to use Revo; Evo’s still my main artillery. wink I sure hope it won’t be left idle on the back burner...
