Hi,
I’m trying to install MODx modx-1.0.2 at free hosting.
At the end of installation (“Pre-install validation” screen)I received the following errors:

Checking if /assets/cache and /assets/cache/rss directories exist: FAILED!
Checking if /assets/cache and /assets/cache/rss directories are writable: FAILED!
Checking if /assets/cache/siteCache.idx.php file is writable: FAILED!
Checking if /assets/cache/sitePublishing.idx.php file is writable: FAILED!
Checking if /assets/images, /assets/files, /assets/flash and /assets/media directories exists: FAILED!
Checking if /assets/images, /assets/files, /assets/flash and /assets/media directories are writable: FAILED!
Checking if /assets/export directory exists: FAILED!
Checking if /assets/export directory is writable: FAILED!
Checking if /manager/includes/config.inc.php exists and is writable: FAILED!
So, I manually create all mentioned above folders and empty file config.inc.php
And give to all folders and files Permissions:777

After that installation is finishing, but when I open mainpage of my site or try to go to /manager directory I receive these errors:

Warning: fopen(/home/vhosts/mysite.freetzi.com/assets/templates/manager/login.html) [function.fopen]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/vhosts/ mysite.freetzi.com/manager/includes/accesscontrol.inc.php on line 130

Warning: filesize() [function.filesize]: stat failed for /home/vhosts/ mysite.freetzi.com/assets/templates/manager/login.html in /home/vhosts/ mysite.freetzi.com/manager/includes/accesscontrol.inc.php on line 131

Warning: fread(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in /home/vhosts/ mysite.freetzi.com/manager/includes/accesscontrol.inc.php on line 131

Warning: fclose(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in /home/vhosts/ mysite.freetzi.com/manager/includes/accesscontrol.inc.php on line 132
What can I do to fix it?

Thanks in advance,

I don’t understand; you should NOT be creating those folders, they should already exist when you upload MODx to your web space. All you need to do is change the permissions on them. Creating the blank config.inc.php may be necessary, but you don’t need to create anything else.

Thanks!

These catalogs are really present at MODx distributive.
I tried to unzip and to re-install several times, but I didn’t suspect that something can be wrong with archive file, as I didn’t receive any error message during unpacking.

I uploaded modx-1.0.2.tar.gz once again and re-install MODx.
Now everything is ok.
Thank you very much.

thread can be closed

and sorry for such a silly question.

Regards,
