    Hey,

I’ve been busy on a website online and all of the sudden i get this message:

    « MODx Parse Error »

MODx encountered the following error while attempting to parse the requested resource:
    « PHP Parse Error »

    PHP error debug
Error: Unknown: open(/var/lib/php/session/sess_v9m3imdfr1m4i914mmrvnk2947, O_RDWR) failed: Permission denied (13)
    Error type/ Nr.: Warning - 2
    File: Unknown
    Line: 0

    Parser timing
    MySQL: 0.0033 s (0 Requests)
    PHP: 0.0332 s
    Total: 0.0365 s

I downloaded the site on my Local PC and everything works fine.

So my thought is there is something wrong with the server?
But what? Any ideas i can try?

Oh yeah, i cant logon to the manager either.

    Thanks

Sounds like your hosting made some updates to their server configuration and broke your session handling. Try clearing your browser cache and cookies, then try to get in to the manager again. If that doesn’t work, contact your hosting tech support and ask them why sessions are broken.

Thanks for your super fast reply Sottwell.

I managed to fix the problem myself. What was going on:

The site is on a Plesk server.
I had the site all working on a subdomein, with the PhP support set to "Apache mode"
When i created a new subdomein to start a new project i putted the PhP support for this new subdomein on "Fast CGI".
Changing this setting made the website on the other subdomein malfunction (couldnt logg in the back-end and was getting errors in the front-end)
By simply changing the new subdomein also to "Apache mode", made the first domein work again.

I dont know why it has to be this setting and how the setting of different subdomein could cause this to an other, but i’m a happy camper it works again.

        Thanks for the advice.
