Hi. I hope this is helpful to other people trying to install Modx.
I’m new to Modx and on my first install everything went smoothly apart
from the step where you test and create a database connection.
I recieved an error here to the effect of it could not connect to database.
I did a bit of digging around and found that PHP Admin on my hosting
control panel had the language or ’coollation’ at a different setting than
modx was trying to use.
Apologies I can’t explain better but I am new to databases and Modx.
Anyway, hopefully some frustrated person out there will come across this post
and it’ll fix their problem.
