Some admin should remove his posts. The link does not go to bluehost.

Ok, this davidmamal guy is registering new users with different numerical endings and posting this advertisement all over the forums. That’s not very nice.

And I’m sure he’s including his affiliate code in the ultimate link to Bluehost (and trying like crazy to hide it).

Worst of all, he’s making Bluehost look bad and they’re an excellent MODx host with a great SimpleScripts install and upgrade of both Evolution and Revolution.

Bluehost is a MODx partner hosting company. Use this link:http://bluehost.com/track/modx/partnerspage to give MODx credit for your visit rather than this spammer.

David’s been banned and hopefully blocked from future registrations.

Bob, do you by any chance know of Bluehost has any kind of suexec? I asked their live chat person, but he didn’t seem to know what I was talking about. I’m looking to move off of my Solaris VPS; it’s been fun but needs more admin time than I’m willing to put into it. Bluehost looks good, but I really prefer not having to have any 777 permissions.

Must be. I just looked and my permissions there are all 755 and 644.

I know phpsuexec is enabled on all Site5 servers by default. If you are looking for a managed VPS provider I know a few good ones.

Thanks, but I’ve already gotten a Bluehost account. I’ve worked with developers with several sites hosted on them before, and have never seen or heard of any problems, and the price is good as well. Too bad their online chat people don’t pay attention to what they’re doing; if I hadn’t remembered my other work they would have lost the sale. I’ve never been able to understand working for somebody and not making the effort to learn what it is they actually do. Presumably their tech support people are more on the ball.

I guess that tech was having an off day (or at least hope so). I’ve heard good things about Bluehost and the MODx installer doesn’t hurt wink

                  Happy Hosting,
