yes, until October 26 my web site will be in geocities.(http://www.geocities.com/f_villacis/

Now, I am updating to MODx, and before of the date I will have one first version of my web site in MODx (first page, 50 links to text and graphical pages, and menus to simple database to see).

In 2010, I will join one forum and one e-comerce solution to my web site.

Would you please recommend me some alternatives of hosting in order to choose the best option for my web site that being updated?

I’d recommend Bluehost. They have an excellent SimpleScripts MODx install.

If you sign up through the link above, MODx gets a small commission too.

        Bluehost or hostclear

I heard they are sister companies.

I convey with bluehost by chat in they told me that bluehost does not support MODx.
I told bluehost person that should notify to MODx that is not working with MODx more.

          Do you have other alternatives?

It’s unlikely you will find a hosting company that "supports" MODx. In general hosting companies have a not the server not our problem policy or they may briefly look into issues, but they don’t support the script.

MODx can be installed with bluehost among other options, if you have problems support isn’t going to fix them. If that happens you just ask for help here.

If you want other hosting options check into Site5 they do a good job and will help a little with scripts provided they have not other tickets at the time.

My experience with Bluehost is that you go to the SimpleScripts part of cPanel and click to install MODx. The MODx install takes a few seconds and, after it’s done, you have a working copy of MODx -- no support necessary.

As AMDBuilder says, no low-priced hosting service will "support" any CMS in the sense of holding your hand after it is installed.

The MODx installation will run fine when installed. If you mess up the MODx installation, though, they won’t know how to fix it, but that’s normal.

Bluehost absolutely supports running MODx on their servers, they just don’t offer application-level support. That’s why these Community support forums exist! Simple Scripts makes getting MODx up and running on Bluehost dead simple and almost instant.

                  Thnxs for your replies,

I am agree and I understand what will be the support that I will encounter with each hosting solution for one MODx web site.

Somebody can make one comparison between http://modxcms.com/community/partners/hosting.html hosting in order to have parameters to decide what is the best alternative for different MODx websites cases.

                    ooookay,

It is very clear the differences between the 4 hosting solutions recommended from:
                    http://modxcms.com/community/partners/hosting.html

                    - shared hosting, VPS hosting, dedicated hosting
                    - quality in general support
                    - experience with MODx solutions
                    - extras
                    - windows hosting

Somebody can collaborate with other differences?
Somebody knows something about the extras that are included in the installation of Host Color Hosting?
