    Hi Guys,

    Just a quick question.

    Background.
The company I am building a modx based site for are currently getting there domain transferred to a new host. I have been given a temporary URL which consists of the server IP and ~username.

I have uploaded the files via FTP and exported/imported the database successfully(after a few attempts!)

I have access to the manager area and the document tree is there in full although when I go to preview I can only view the home/index page. Other pages just come up with the hosts 404 page?

What I’m asking is whether that’s expected for a temporary URL or should I have access to each page?

    Thanks for your time.

While it can be done, I have always turned off Friendly URLs for sites on those kind of temporary URLs. There is a way to configure the .htaccess file to deal with it.

Yeah, the solution probably requires a custom modification to the .htaccess file (presuming of course, that this server parses your .htaccess files). You may have to include the ~user bit in the rewrite rule.
