I am looking to re-design my current website using modx. I just want to know whats the best way to go about doing this, while still keeping my current site live? I sit a matter of re-installing modx to create a new account or what?

    Any help would be great

    Thanks

Create your new site or the MODx version in a directory and keep the "old" site active. Once complete move it over. Or build your new site on a local server and then swap the sites when you are ready to go live.

Or if your old site is flat files, with an "index.html" file, make sure your server is configured to serve index.html before index.php, and go ahead and install MODx in the site root. To access it, manually enter "mydomain.com/index.php" in the browser’s address bar.

...and of course don’t turn on friendly URLs (FURLS) until you are ready to go live with your new site (since presumably you’d want to use many if not all of the same URLs in the new site).
