So I got tired of shared hosting slowness and troubles. Got a box through liquidweb. We’ll see how it goes.
Do you have any advice on what to turn on/turn off?

Brett at Foxycart is a huge fan of Liquidweb. Did you get a dedicated box? If so they’re amazing at doing recompiles for you to get you exactly what you need from what I understand.

I did get a dedicated box at Liquidweb. They’ve been extremely supportive and helpful. I got them to install phpSuExec within 2 hours of the purchase. And today I got them to do some other things like install Zend Accelerator, CURL, etc. It took them less than 30 minutes.
So I am just looking for any other tips or modules that would be helpful on it.

Make sure the MySQL driver for PDO is installed, and that PDO is active. What version of PHP is it running?

Did you go with Dedicated or Virtual Private?
Bob
It’s dedicated. Got a coupon from here that made it a pretty slick deal-

It’s PHP 5.2. They are installing the PDO driver for me. Is there any reason not to use MySQL 5? It’s running 4... now.
As long as it isn’t MySQL 5.0.51 which seems to have the grouping/sorting bug.
