Basic e-commerce

Hi All,

I have read through 100’s of posts relating to e-commerce and shopping carts. Have also tried most of them.
To be honest i’m struggling with most of them.

This is what i am looking for:
FRONTEND:
1. Basic product listing and shopping cart.
2. Customer CAN view products and more details
3. Add product to cart, update cart or checkout.
4. If already logged on customer must be taken to checkout or asked to sign-in or register.
5. No paypal/credit card integration is needed, only a simple email confirmation of order placed.

BACKEND:
1. Admin must receive and email of the order placed.
2. Admin can update/amend/cancel etc...the order.
3. Once payment has been made, Admin can mark order as ’paid’ at which time a final email is sent to client.

basically this is the gist of what i’m looking for. There is obviously more but the features i assume are normally standard.

If anyone has any idea on which system would be the best to use, please let me know.
I came across Sotwell’s ShopX but have no idea how to implement it.

Hi Sharkbait.

Have tried everything to get Shopkeeper installed, even followed a Russian video.
Managed to get half of it working.
Ajax not working, Order not being processed and order detail not showing at the top of the check out page, oh yes and everything is in Russian

Do you perhaps know of an English TUT to help with installation or do you perhaps have the time to assist.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Ok, i seem to have Shopkeeper working now, except for the placing of the order. i get the following error when submitting orders:

Main mail: Mailer was unable to send mailCould not instantiate mail function.

Anyone have any ideas?

Are you working locally on something like WAMP or XAMPP or on a live server?

WAMP and i have it running live as well

I get the same error both locally and live

does eForm work without Shopkeeper on your servers? ( php mail() )

It was working, quickly tried to test it again and now i am getting the following error: any ideas?

assume it’s a path issue -> assets//assets/ <-
