I going to have to merge Xcart and MODx users pretty soon for a project I’m doing and am wondering if anyone has any advice on how to do this. The most similar thing to this that I’ve seen is the integration with Gallery2 - does anyone know how that was done?
Should I use MODx or Xcart to store the users, or create duplicate users in both systems?
Basically, what needs to happen is:
1. There needs a single registration form, and when someone registers they can login as a webuser to MODx and as an Xcart user.
2. There needs to be a single login form that logs the user into both systems
3. There needs to be a single user management interface, or hooks from one that would update the other.
Any advice from someone who’s done this before would be great.

Well, I ended up figuring out an easy way to do this.
What we decided to do is use Xcart’s user management system. In MODx we grab the xcart cookie and authenticate users and grab their login information with that. I don’t have the code right in front of me now, but if any one is interested I can post how to do this later. Just ask if you need it.
