Well, commercial offerings (usually) work...I don’t want anybody to think I’m trying to go up against phpshop or oscommerce with this!

I’m taking a hard look at using this in the final checkout payment modules
http://phpmailer.sourceforge.net/
since the php mail() functions often leaves much to be desired.
I’m using it for NewsLetter as its included in MODx’s download and it works great for SMTP but the mail fallback doesn’t work right.
mark, did you mean phpmailer have problem with email fallback?
FYI, I don’t quite understand what do you mean by "fallback".
I’m looking for a way to make simple newsletter, which allow people to signup, and later the webuser who has the right access able to access the page and send out an email to user subsribed to the system. Is your newsletter able to do that as well? (sorry kinda out of topic).
Thanks
phpmailer can do SMTP mail fine. But say your host doesn’t have SMTP for some reason and you must use phpmail. There is an option in phpmailer that makes it use the mail() function. In that mode, some parts of the script don’t work right.....
As for the News Letter, yes, thats what the NewsLetter system will do (and alot more). If you want a peek at a demo, IM or Email me.
Will there be any continuity on this code/prject?
This might be really usefull features for MODx.
I think you can count on it, Susan won’t drop the ball
