What’s this Google-analytics.com business? Maybe it’s just my crummy ISP, but quite often my browser just hangs connecting or waiting for it.

It forces me to go to google.co.il, and I haven’t been able to get into them all afternoon. I suppose it’s an improvement over this morning, when I had no internet at all!
I’ve been trying Google analytics the last two weeks. You probably know that Google has bought Urchin : it’s no less than Urchin for free
Of course, the terms of service include use of the information collected and some might disagree with that, but frankly for personnal use I don’t mind at all...
The interface is better than Urchin, and it’s nicely done. I have to wait a little to have some perspective about this, but yeah this is a big move from Google... it will rock the market a little, no doubt...

I kept trying, and finally got through...and since the src of the javascript is urchin.js, I would presume it’s based on urchin. Too bad it’s hanging my connection about 20% of the time. And I’m not sure that I’m real happy about my activities being tracked like this; slashdot is using them too.

There is definitely experiencing growing pains with Analytics right now, but I’ve got it running on MODx now. Interesting stuff!
