MODx Revolution Gallery Advice?

Hi,

I’m just building a site for our cycling club in MODx Revolution and we want to give club members the ability to create albums in MODx and upload images, as a lot of the members are not IT Savvy I need to try and make this as error prone as possible.

I have had a look around and can only seem to find splittingred’s Gallery package for Revolution, this works pretty well but either I feel that this could perhaps lead to some errors such as members not resizing the original photo before upload, I did try to upload a 2mb image this morning but it just displays an error.

What is everyone using for galleries these days in MODx Revolution? I used to love Maxi Gallery on Evolution, I am also looking for the ability for users to rate photos and even comment on them and just not sure if that will work with the Gallery Package? Also I’m unsure how to restrict Gallery access to particular roles.

Any advice or tips would be great.
