Mail settings on localhost

hi guys

i just need a quick help
i am getting more and more involved in building my website with modx
i am working on it on a local server ie localhost/whatever/...

in order to test registration forms, i thought, I will configure smtp settings in System settings
i created a demo gmail account in which i enabled POP
so, i’m just curious if my settings are ok for handling form sendings on my site on localhost

please check my configurations in the attached screen capture

of course, i tested the registration form, but didn’t receive the notification email

i would really appreciate any advice, what i did wrong or what is the best way to adjust mail settings on localhost

You can use gmail as the smtp mail; you need to configure Revo’s mail with your gmail username and password (as well as the smtp server name).

Make sure your localhost is also configured for smtp... I think xampp has it off by default.
